Norton Methodist Chapel

We are a small and friendly group but but we hope we are always ready to meet new friends, whatever the circumstances.

Our normal Sunday gatherings in the chapel are at 10am but during the Covid19 crisis we have had to constantly review our practices.

Like others, we are still discovering how best to adapt and continue to experiment with ways of sharing and caring for each other.

When it is appropriate to meet in the chapel we follow government guidelines as well as Methodist recommendations in order to keep one another safe.

Please use the contact box provided for up-to-date details on whether the Chapel building is currently open on Sundays. We can also provide information on any other ways of getting together which are being planned.

Our Sunday Gathering

Our 10am Sunday gathering has provides a time of worship for all. Since the start of the pandemic we have been faced with periods of closure. At times when the building has been in use we have needed to adapt to meet restrictions on our usual ways of being together so that we offer a safe space.

More recently most of us have started to meet together online from time to time but we also provide regular news bulletins and occasional worship resources by email.

When we make no provision for Sunday worship we recommend the online service from Droitwich Methodist Church where our minister, Rev Gary Molver, is based.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is important to us. Please get in touch if you would like to see a copy of our policy

First Day

Prior to the pandemic First Day had been a part of our worship pattern on the first Sunday of each month for several years. We have become accustomed to a less formal style of worship and sometimes share in unconventional ways on these Sundays.

We are continuing to search for the best way to maintain this and have experimented with emailed material and a short online gathering – not a polished performance, but a sharing among friends. The aim remains to create a fresh approach to stimulate our thinking as it offers a way to spend time in God’s company.
